Social Care Charity Celebrates National Apprenticeship Week
Vibrance is celebrating National Apprenticeship Week by offering young adults an opportunity to enrich their future and employability skills.
Ilford based charity, Vibrance, will launch its third apprenticeship intake on Monday 9th March. Vibrance will be recruiting nine apprentices, aged between 16-18. A variety of positions from business administration, finance and IT through to front-line service placements will be available across the organisation lasting 12 months.
Before starting their formal induction, all apprentices will go through a rigorous eight week job-ready programme before joining a service and or department. Vibrance Apprenticeship Academy is a unique opportunity, supporting candidates to develop their employment skills increasing their chances of successfully completing their apprenticeship and gaining meaningful, sustainable employment.
Vibrance supports over 850 adults throughout London and the South East with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs, offering a range of community services, low-support housing, nursing and care homes, short breaks, supported employment and self-directed services.
Nita Desir-Adeshiyan, Vibrance HR Director, said: “We’re excited to be celebrating National Apprenticeship Week with the launch of our third year intake of apprentices. Vibrance Apprenticeship Academy has grown over the past three years. We are continuing to invest in young people. Our intention will be to increase our intake of apprentices in line with our 2020 business goal to 20 apprentices across the company.
“Enabling young adults to gain experience in the social care and charity sector is very important to us. With the introduction of our academy we hope to be able to inform and help our apprentices to support the people we serve to lead their lives as they wish.
“Becoming a Vibrance apprentice is an ideal first step towards better job opportunities and developing new skills. We aim to train our apprentices in line with our core values, to appreciate working within a team, problem solving and to embrace workplace technology. We also want our new apprentices to develop specialised skills relating to particular jobs through a mix of on-the-job and off-site learning.
“In addition, we’re hoping the academy will help change perceptions around the choice of the health and social care sector as a career, and create a vibrant outlook with great career prospectus that people want to be a part of.
“During the time as a Vibrance Academy Apprentice we will support each candidate to develop suitable qualifications, from a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Care, to finance and administration.”
Vibrance employs around 400 people and was named in The Sunday Times ‘100 Best Companies To Work For’ in 2012.
