Larwood, in South Ockendon, is a residential care home, providing accommodation, care and support for eight adults with learning, sensory and physical disabilities.
Accommodation is a large, detached purpose built house in a quiet residential cul-de-sac. The service benefits from a spacious garden, featuring two large summerhouses, one of which is used as a sensory room and the other as an activity room.
Each service user has a full care package personalised to their individual needs, enabling them to reach their full potential, develop new skills, promote independence and support them to lead the lifestyle they wish.
Our staff are highly-experienced and are encouraged to undergo a wide variety of training and development, enhancing and constantly evolving our home into the best it can be.
Our service users are involved in all decision making, from the activities they take part in to the colour they want the lounge painted.
We always ensure that our support promotes continuity, kindness, compassion and empathy, and we work in partnership with external organisations to ensure each individual is happy and living the life that they choose.
Service users are supported to access a range of activities within the community such as the library, education centre, local shops and social clubs. Our staff also assist with choosing and accessing holidays, with some of our service users venturing as far as Canada.
