Green Lodge

Green Lodge

Green Lodge is registered service providing 24 hour short break accommodation for up to nine adults with severe learning disabilities and complex healthcare needs.

As a registered home with nursing, Green Lodge offers respite, day and latchkey care to adults who have complex healthcare and sensory needs.

Located in Woodford Green, close to local shops, restaurants and excellent public transport links, our aim is to provide a ‘home from home’ for those who use our service.

Our compassionate staff are always caring and patient when delivering care, and our main aim is to ensure that our service users have a positive and fulfilled time whilst in our care.

We carry out comprehensive holistic assessments prior to our clients accessing our service.  Once we have identified our clients’ needs, likes and dislikes, we are able to plan ahead upon a respite booking. Our programme is constantly updated to provide a range of seasonal activities. These trips include the seaside, cycling, cinema, bowling, restaurants and country parks. Our nine-seater minibus is also on hand to enable trips out. We have also just installed an interactive floor projector, which many of our service users love.

We have learnt that a full comprehensive assessment prior to using the service ensures a smooth transition into respite. We encourage families/ carers and service users to visit us whilst we carry out our assessment and we also visit the service users at home to ensure that we have all the right equipment to provide the care needed. We liaise with other professionals, including speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists if we need to refer service users for assessment.

Attending regular reviews organised by social services, enables us to have a better understanding of our clients’ needs.
