At Owlz, we provide opportunities and support to adults with learning and physical disabilities, and complex needs.
Part of the Blue Skies project and located in Stepney Way, our activities range from the chance to take part in social interaction in the local community, to hydrotherapy pool and physiotherapy sessions to meet individual health needs.
Our service offers excellent support to those with complex needs such as autism and our staff are highly-trained in intensive interaction to ensure effective communication with those we support.
We pride ourselves in having a good understanding of individual cultural and religious needs, and have a staff team to match the diversity of the people we support.
Working closely with outside professionals, families and carers allows us to develop consistent strategies and individually-tailored programmes suited to each person.
We actively encourage people to make their own choices about the service they receive and the activities they choose to take part in, which include trips to the seaside, drama, arts and crafts, bowling, pub lunches, swimming, visiting local cafés and parks, and bowling.
We understand that it is important to be flexible and adaptable to people’s different needs and wishes, and ways of communicating and reacting. Whilst this approach can bring challenges, we always do this with humour and patience to ensure our service users receive a service that meets their needs and wishes.
