Debbie Neill
Director of Operations
Debbie has over 30 year’s experience working in health and social care, firstly in commissioning roles within the NHS and Local Government before moving into the social care sector in 2003. Debbie’s area of interest and experience was the commissioning and delivery of community based services for adults and children with disabilities. She is a Trustee for Learning Disability England and has been a trustee of Crossroads and a voluntary non-executive director for a not for profit organisation which provides social care support for adults with learning disabilities.
One of Debbie’s earlier roles was in an NHS project team responsible for decommissioning a hospital for people with learning disabilities. She would say that this experience certainly set her on the path to find ways to ensure people are consulted, heard and well supported to access life opportunities and community services regardless of their ability. Most recently she has developed and delivered individually designed accommodation and support services for people who have been living, sometimes for 15 years or more, in hospital type settings.
Before joining not for profit support and Housing providers, Advance and then Look Ahead, Debbie played an instrumental role in the successful floatation of the company on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) of the London Stock Exchange. Debbie then led the growth and development of the business taking it from 24 to 52 branches.
