Anne Lyons

Chair

Anne holds an MA at the Institute of Education on Rights in Education and is now retired from her role as Head of Modern Languages in a comprehensive school in St. Albans. Earlier on in her career she worked as a Warden of a Homeless Project in Sheffield. Anne has close personal links with Vibrance; her mother Jeanne Lill, who died in 2012, was a Vibrance Trustee for over 20 years, and her brother, Michael, was a long-term service user in one of our care homes in Woodford

Paul Allen

Chief Executive Officer

Paul has been Vibrance Chief Executive officer since 2008 and has been part of the Senior Management Team since 1997. In all Paul has 32 years experience of working in social care including 8 years in Leytonstone House https://www.vibrance.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/3-150x150.jpgHospital. Paul holds an MSc in Psychology(Learning Disability) gained in 1996.

Adil Ghani

Trustee

I am passionate about disability inclusion within society. I have used Vibrance's self-directed services in the past. I look forward to gaining a greater insight into the work that Vibrance does as well as contributing to the board of trustees. I work as an inclusion consultant with The Ability People (TAP) helping companies look at inclusion in the workplace particularly for those who live with disabilities. I have been a trustee for Panathlon Challenge since 2015.

Panathlon Challenge is a charity that organises sporting competitions for young people living with disabilities across the country. I am also a Governor at Marjorie McClure School which is a special needs school that I attended as a student from 2003 to 2014.

Michael Atkins

Vice Chair

Michael used Vibrance’s Outreach service for many years before moving to supported housing in Rayleigh. Michael is particularly interested in Quality issues and is a pioneer at Vibrance. Michael has visited other charity boards and advised Vibrance on how to improve accessibility for people to take full part in Board business. Michael won a National Care Award for his work as a Vibrance Trustee, and is very proud to currently hold the position of Vice Chair.

Elaine Richardson

Trustee

Elaine has been associated with Vibrance for over 20 years, when her late husband Colin was appointed as Chief Executive. In memory of his contribution to Vibrance, since 2008 Elaine has presented the Colin Richardson Awards for staff who made a difference to the quality of life of service users. Elaine has over 40 years’ of management experience in marketing and PR within the travel industry, education and charity sectors, for a Housing Association and a Borough Council. She has experience of helping to grow businesses, website development, events and fundraising. After semi-retiring she has been a marketing consultant and worked for a ski business in France.

Shirley Lowe

Special Advisor

Shirley Lowe is a retired trainer and consultant with more than 30 years management experience throughout local authority social care and NHS healthcare services. Shirley is a Special Adviser to Vibrance Board of Trustees, having served on the Board of Vibrance for 20 years. She has a son with special needs and continues her involvement with People First and user centered services.

Evonne Powell

Trustee

Evonne has many years experience of using different kinds of support services. She has been a member of Vibrance's Outreach service for over 10 years, and has had support from Outreach workers in many different aspects of raising her young family. Evonne has a wealth of knowledge about family support and special educational needs services, (SEND) and is keen to ensure that the Vibrance Board of Trustees benefit from her unique experience. Evonne is particularly interested in making sure that the people who use Vibrance's services have a real say over the future of the organisation.

Binnie Goh

Trustee

Binnie is an experienced public sector lawyer with a wide range of experience across many policy areas, including education, employment, and equality law. She has a deep dedication to public service and is passionate about Equality Diversity and Inclusion. She has previously served as governor to two special schools and brings governance experience from her current role as General Counsel in a Non-Governmental Organization. Binnie is mother to a disabled daughter which drives her to improve the life chances of the disabled community.”

Ryan Lever

Trustee

Ryan has worked in financial technology (strategy), investment banking (M&A and ECM), renewable energy (advisory), and asset management (product). Most recently, for BlackRock and its platform Aladdin.

He is also a freelancer, advisor, artist, director, volunteer, designer, and works on 10 of his own ventures.

He graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in Politics and Philosophy, and holds over 10 educational or professional certifications.

David Barnes

Trustee

I commenced my role of support worker at Vibrance in February 2006. I have experience in registered and low support services across Vibrance both in the role of Support worker and Project worker. I currently work at Cloisters as a support worker supporting individuals to be as independent as possible, ensuring they have control over their own lives. I also carry out the role of relief maintenance support worker with service user’s which contributes towards service user’s having a nice safe environment to live in. I have achieved my NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Health and Social care. I have a genuine passion for supporting individuals with a learning disability and enjoy my work!
